CAD 360


Introduction 

This competition covers the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology in the preparation of graphical models, drawings, and files containing all the necessary information for manufacturing parts and components. The competition will be based on the AutoCAD software. In this competition, the competitor will have to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to create 2D drawings. The competitor should also be able to read, interpret, and draw production drawings, Competency and Scope of Work 

The Competition is a demonstration and assessment of the competencies associated with this skill. The Test Project involves practical work only. Competencies not evaluated directly: The following competencies are not the subject of direct evaluation, but the Competitor needs them for the Competition: 

• Creating 2D drawing with full details. 

• Configuring the parameters of the software. 

• Having sufficient knowledge of computer operating systems to be able to use and manage computer files and software correctly. 

• Having a thorough understanding of the rules of technical drawing and the prevailing latest ISO standards that govern those rules.

Objective: Drawing first angle/third angle projection of 3D object.

The time allowed for this assignment is 1 hour. The dimensions should be in millimeters.

In this round the competitor is expected to draw 2D first angle projection or third angle projection of a 3D object. (Provided)
